Ever been bogged down with worries and feeling lost, because you can’t find any meaning with your situation?
Have you ever felt that you lack direction in life? That you are a part of a rat race?
My own spiritual path started when I started practicing the religion I was born into, Sikhism. The wonderful guidance from my Guru, Guru Granth Sahib Ji, has given me directions to search for the higher meanings.
I was doing great, running the family business, I was popular and respected among friends and family. But something was missing – on the inside. One day I just could not make any sense of the state I was in. I found it natural to seek guidance in the religion I was born into. This is how my spiritual journey started.
What the books of wisdom say:
Whenever you are going for a long walk in the forest you always take with you provisions to eat on the way.
In the same way we need to take with us principles of spiritual science, as food, if we are to walk life’s paths with a firm step.
As we are only travelers on earth and we began this journey a long time ago, the present lifetime is only a stage of the journey that we started since we left the bosom of the Eternal.
Before we get home, we have to travel many different regions.
So remember that while you are on this journey to fill your bags with knowledge of the Divine, as food, the food that are the truths of the soul and spirit.
In that way we can continue to study, to work and to love.
What I decided to gather:
After studying and following the teachings of Guru Granth Sahib Ji, I caught interest in reading other spiritual teachers’ teachings. Although I found lots of similarities I found that some teachings were easier to understand than others and I started to gather knowledge from all that made sense to me. I respect all teachers but I’ve found that I can relate to only those teachers that make sense to me at a certain time. This certain time can be exactly that time when I’m attuned to receive knowledge from a certain teacher. Next time I can receive knowledge from another. The most important thing is to gather knowledge – food for the soul – no matter who is teaching me. I’ve found that I’m always given knowledge, and it depends on me if I’m open to receive it or I’m shut because of my worries and problems of everyday life.
